After 11 years at another Portland landscape architecture office, Michael decided in 2002 that it was time to throw caution to the wind and start his own firm. He has over 18 years of professional experience managing the design and construction documentation of numerous private commercial and residential development, and public infrastructure projects. His attention to detail and his focus on customer service have helped Viridian establish a reputation for creating beautiful designs while meeting the demands of time and budget inherent to all development projects.

An increasingly rare native Portlander, Michael graduated from the University of Oregon before returning to his home town. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest has given him a deep appreciation for the natural systems throughout this region, and he strives to find ways of incorporating them into every aspect of his work. In his spare time he revels in time spent with his family while dreaming of a trip to Old Trafford in Manchester, England.
