221 Molalla
Oregon City, Oregon
An existing, vacant lumber warehouse was redeveloped to be a vibrant, sustainable mixed-use project. Viridian worked with the architect to plan and design the landscape for a new stormwater collection and treatment area between the building and the reconfigured parking lot. Sculpture, by artist Ivan McLean, was incorporated both inside the building and in the landscape to evoke the running of the salmon through our regional rivers and streams. The landscape was designed to use highly drought tolerant native and adapted species to reduce the potable water demand to the point that no irrigation was used on the project. 221 Molalla has recieved a LEED Gold Certification.
